About two years ago, we started a department-wide program to train ourselves in areas outside the typical law school education. Key elements of the curriculum, as we call it, are game theory, behavioral economics, statistics, and systems dynamics. We have on-going training programs. Last year, we had a worldwide meeting during which three professors of economics from the Univ. of Lausanne ran an immersion course for us. Since then, the team has been using tools from the curriculum in many parts of our “day jobs” — e.g., decision making; risk assessment; counseling.
